Want a tangible way to share God’s love with others?

When you serve at First Baptist Woodstock, you’re a part of being the hands and feet of Christ to our church body. God will use you in incredible ways when you serve at Woodstock!

Prayer Team

Prayer is a vital part of everything we do at Woodstock. This team is made up of intercessors, group leaders, and prayer responders that lift up requests on behalf of others throughout the week.

INTERCESSOR

Asking God to meet our daily, physical, and spiritual needs is essential. Our intercessors pray on behalf of all the requests we receive each day and engage in our gatherings.

GROUP LEADER

In addition to praying as a church, we pray together in small groups throughout the week as a way to seek God for specific causes. Group leaders guide this time together and teach others to pray.

PRAYER RESPONDERS

We want each person who leaves a prayer request to know they are being prayed for by our team. Our prayer responders reply to each request that comes in with prayer and spiritual encouragement.

Woodstock Kids

Our Woodstock Kids team exists to help kids find and follow Jesus. If you want to invest in the next generation, consider serving with the Woodstock Kids team as they strive to lay a spiritual foundation for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.

GRADE COACH

Our grade coaches oversee their grade levels on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. They assist with any ministry needs, encourage their teachers, and help enlist more volunteers for the Woodstock Kids ministry.

SMALL GROUP LEADER

Our small group leaders teach classes on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights with provided lesson materials as well as encourage children in their walk with Jesus.

SMALL GROUP CO-LEADER

A small group co-leader assists their leader in teaching the Bible lesson and encouraging kids in their class on Wednesday nights.

SMALL GROUP HELPER

Our small group helpers assist their class with any needs they have and provide a welcoming atmosphere for families on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights.

WELCOME DESK GREETER

Our greeters make sure families feel welcome each Sunday. They assist with check-in procedures and help first time guests navigate our campus.

KIDZPLACE PICK-UP

KidzPlace is our Sunday worship gathering open to K-5th grades. After this program is complete, this team assists with parent pick-up to help it run efficiently.

KIDZPLACE V.I.P.

A KidzPlace V.I.P. volunteer is someone who makes our students feel welcome by having a smile on their face as they greet! They also help students stay engaged in large group gatherings. Over all you just have to know how to have fun with the students!

Thrive

Thrive Special Needs Ministry provides a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for children and adults with disabilities to learn and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ on Sunday Mornings and Wednesday Nights. We’d love for you to join the team!

BUDDY

This is a friend who gives their Thrive student their full attention and helps them engage in activities.

COACH

A coach leads and cares for buddies through connecting, supporting, and training them to meet the needs of Thrive students.

ROOM LEADER

We have Bible, Music, and Art Room Leaders. Our Room Leaders use provided curriculum to teach and reinforce the Bible lesson in creative ways each week.

WELCOME TEAM

Our Welcome Team greets parents, students, and volunteers as they enter the Thrive Suite. They assist with check-in procedures and help first time families register new students.

Generational Worship

Do you love music? We would love for you to be a part of this team with the gifting and skills God has given you by serving our students. Check out the volunteer opportunities below to see where you would best fit!

KIDS WORSHIP LEADERS

Kids worship leaders have the amazing opportunity to teach preschool and elementary students about Jesus through music on Wednesday nights. Singing is required and knowing music is preferred.

KIDS WORSHIP HELPERS

Helpers assist worship leaders in teaching the lesson and encouraging the kids in their class on Wednesday nights. No singing or knowledge of music is required for this position.

KIDS WORSHIP CHECK-IN ASSISTANTS

Our Check-In Assistants make sure first time guests feel welcome each Wednesday. They assist with check-in procedures and help new families register online.

THRIVE WORSHIP LEADERS

These worship leaders help our Thrive students learn worship songs and hand motions on Wednesday nights.

STUDENTS IN WORSHIP

Students in Worship is an opportunity for middle and high schoolers interested in leading worship vocally or instrumentally. This group meets from 5:45-6:15PM on Wednesday nights and no application is required. Please contact becky.lovelace@fbcw.net for more information.

STUDENTS IN WORSHIP HELPER

Adult helpers assist in Students in Worship by sitting and singing with the choir each week at rehearsal. This group meets from 5:45-6:15PM on Wednesday nights. Singing and knowing music is required. Please contact becky.lovelace@fbcw.net for more information.

Woodstock Students

Whether you’re an adult who wants to invest in the next generation or a student who wants to lead alongside your peers, the Woodstock Students team would love to have you!

INFORMATION DESK

Our Information Desk Volunteers make sure students feel welcome each Sunday and Wednesday. They greet first time guests, answer general questions, and provide class information to students.

SMALL GROUP LEADER

Small Group Leaders are our main pathway for spiritual growth for our students. They are men and women in the church who have committed their time each week to make a spiritual difference in the life of a student. We seek to create environments in the church where those who serve can live out the Great Commission by discipling teens.

STUDENT HOSTING LEADER

The Student Hosting Team builds relationships with students before Wednesday night gatherings start by engaging in conversations and playing games. They are flexible and are willing to fill in roles when needed. During the gathering, they sit with the students, engage in worship, and are available to them.

CAFE WORKER

This is a great way to meet students as you process payments for snacks at the café on Sundays or Wednesdays.

STUDENT SECURITY

The safety of our students is our utmost priority. In addition to the security measures we already have in place, we want trusted adults walking the building to ensure that our students are safe on Wednesday nights.

STUDENT LIFE PHOTOGRAPHER

The student life photographer captures candid, authentic moments of what Sundays and Wednesdays look like for Woodstock Students, including small groups, worship, and pre-gathering fun.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Do you like creatively combining visuals, graphics, and copywriting to engage others on social media? We’d love for you to join our social media team and help us show what God is doing in the lives of Woodstock Students.

ROTATING VOLUNTEERS

These amazing volunteers serve once a month in whatever capacity is needed that Sunday morning. They step in to teach last-minute and are flexible and ready to jump in!

WORSHIP TEAM

The worship team gets to engage with children in a large group by singing songs, playing games, and telling stories.

BUGGY PUSHERS

Buggy Pushers are the unsung heroes of Woodstock Littles on Sunday mornings. They push a buggy around the halls to help calm children or relieve numbers in classrooms.

COORDINATORS

Coordinators are volunteers who oversee a section of classrooms on Sunday mornings. They are willing to step in as needed on Sunday mornings, they step in if there’s an issue, help with any sick or upset children, float around their assigned area to check on teachers and troubleshoot as needed. They also take on other tasks that may arise!

CLASSROOM LEADER

After the Bible lesson, classroom leaders help manage fun activities and crafts for the children to engage with on Wednesday nights.

CLASSROOM HELPER

The classroom helper assists and supports the leader on Wednesday nights.

CLASSROOM LISTENERS

This volunteer listens to children say their Bible verses on Wednesday nights and encourages them to continue learning Scripture.

Worship

Do you have a passion for music and worship? Join a team of musicians who are passionate about worshiping God through music and leading others into His presence. We have a variety of opportunities for all ages and abilities, so you can participate in an area that’s the best fit for you.

9:30AM WORSHIP CHOIR

The Woodstock Worship Choir assists in leading the 9:30AM worship gathering each Sunday. Rehearsals are in the choir room on Wednesdays from 6:15-7:45PM.

9:30AM WORSHIP ORCHESTRA

The Woodstock Worship Orchestra assists in leading the 9:30AM worship gathering each Sunday. Rehearsals are in the orchestra room on Wednesdays from 6:15-7:45PM.

11AM WORSHIP BAND

This band leads our 11:00AM worship gatherings vocally and instrumentally each Sunday. An audition is required to join the team.

The Well

Do you feel called to serve college students and young professionals? Consider using your giftings at The Well as they strive to cultivate personal holiness, authentic community, and Kingdom purpose. Whether you’re an adult who wants to invest in the next generation or an 18–29-year-old who wants to lead alongside your peers, The Well is a great place for you!

CONNECTION POINT LEADER

This position serves as the pathway to get involved in groups, mission projects, off campus events, and serving opportunities. They also contribute to the welcoming environment of The Well by overseeing greeters, floaters, and info desk volunteers.

DOOR GREETER

Our Door Greeters are the first faces you see on a Tuesday night. They greet each person who walks through the door with a smile and are available to answer general questions about The Well.

CONNECT DESK VOLUNTEER

Our Connect Desk Volunteers make sure The Well attendees feel welcome each Tuesday. They greet first time guests, answer general questions, and provide small group information.

CONNECT TEAM FLOATER

This role is to help newcomers feel like they belong by engaging them with a friendly face and a warming personality.

EVENT TEAM

This team oversees events on and off campus to create a friendly environment to connect outside of our regular gatherings. The Event Team Leader recruits people to help carry out these wonderful events, while our Event Team Volunteers help plan and execute them.

This team comes alongside our ministry to ensure our worship services, groups, events, mission opportunities, and people are covered with prayer.

WELL COACH

The Well Coach is a discipleship role for someone over the age range of The Well, but wants to invest in that demographic. They walk alongside our group leaders, step in as a substitute leader as needed, and are willing to open their home for special events.

Our Small Group Leaders invest in the lives of college students and young professionals by leading provided discussion questions and encouraging them in their walk with Jesus.

CO-LEADER

A small group co-leader assists their leader in facilitating discussion questions and encouraging their group.

Connect Team

Want to be one of the first faces someone sees on a Sunday? Consider joining the Connect Team! These volunteers are on the frontlines of serving and contribute to our welcoming environment. We’d love to see you develop the gifts God has given you by supporting and encouraging others through this team.

USHERS

The Usher Team has the unique opportunity of building relationships inside the Worship Center by helping people find seats before our gatherings begin.

BAPTISM

The Baptism Team provides support to the Pastor and the Baptism team in preparing candidates, parents and families for baptism for the gathering.

COFFEE

The Coffee Team contributes to our welcoming environment by providing coffee and a smile. Whether it’s brewing coffee, refilling pots, or keeping the counter tidy, they play a huge role in serving our church before each gathering on Sundays. This role requires light lifting and cleaning.

ENCOURAGER

The Encourager Team has a heart for serving others through prayer, counseling, salvation, and membership at Woodstock.

GREETER

Our Greeting Team exists to welcome and connect with people who join us on Sundays. They greet each person with a smile, help families navigate our campus, answer general questions, and engage in meaningful conversations.

TROLLEY

The Trolley Team has the amazing opportunity of giving the first impression of our campus to families by either being a driver or engaging them in conversation.

PARKING

The Parking Team are the first and last faces you see when you arrive on campus. If you are energetic and desire to help people navigate our parking lots with a smile on your face, we’d love to have you serve with us!

PLAN YOUR VISIT

Plan Your Visit Team serves first time guests by positively impacting their first experience at Woodstock. They will help you navigate our campus as well as sit with first time guests in our gatherings upon their request.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Interested in helping out when our church hosts special events? This team is notified when serving opportunities arise outside of our regular gatherings.

FIRST TIME GUEST DELIVERY

First Time Guest Delivery Team goes above and beyond by driving around Woodstock, Canton, Kennesaw, or Acworth to deliver gifts to our first time guests.

FOOD SERVICES

The Food Services Team oversees The Café and special events at Woodstock. The Café team registers, prepares, or hosts our Wednesday Night attendees, while our banquet team serves and prepares food for special events happening on our campus.

WEEKDAY WARRIORS

The Weekday Warrior Team serves during the workday to prepare for Sunday mornings by putting envelopes behind the seats in the Worship Center, writing notes to our guests and members, and helping with any other tasks as needed.

Creative

Do you want to help us creatively share stories of what God is doing at Woodstock?

ONLINE CHAT ROOM MONITOR

These volunteers facilitate, monitor, and engage in conversation with our online audience in the Facebook and Youtube chatrooms during our Sunday livestreams.

SOCIAL MEDIA STORY LEAD

Do you like creatively combining visuals, graphics, and copywriting to engage others on social media? We’d love for you to join our social media team and help us show what God is doing at Woodstock.

PHOTOGRAPHER

If you have a passion for photography or would like to learn, we’d love for you to capture candid, authentic moments on our campus. We have a wide range of options for you and your skillset—from capturing baptism and worship, to campus life and attendance, we have a place for you on this team!
