Selah
FBCW School of Music
Our Mission
Developing musicians who worship God with excellence, share their faith and music with others, serve faithfully with their God-given gifts, and invite people into a relationship with Christ and His church.
What We Offer
We provide private lessons in piano, strings, guitar, and voice. One group class is available for our youngest piano students.
Individual Lessons & Classes
Strings
Violin lessons teach students how to handle and play the violin with proper posture and bow technique. Students will explore bowing, fingering, and reading music while learning scales and simple melodies. These foundational skills come together as they perform musical pieces that develop tone and musical expression. Instruction is available for violin, viola, cello, and bass.
Guitar
Guitar lessons introduce students to the basics of playing and caring for their instrument. Students will learn the parts of the guitar, how to hold and tune it, and how to play basic chords and strumming patterns. As their skills grow, they’ll apply what they’ve learned to songs that build confidence and creativity. Instruction includes acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, and ukulele.
Voice
Voice lessons focus on developing healthy vocal technique through breath control, pitch accuracy, rhythm, diction, and posture. Students will engage in vocal exercises that build tone and range while learning songs that enhance their musicality. Each lesson encourages artistic expression and performance confidence as students grow in their unique vocal abilities.
Music for Little Mozarts
The Music for Little Mozarts class for four- and five-year-olds offers beginner piano lessons in a small group setting. Students will build their cognitive skills, listening abilities, rhythm understanding, and note recognition as they learn to play the piano. This class provides a fun way to introduce young students to the exciting world of music.

Policies & Procedures
Cancellations
It is the student’s responsibility to contact the teacher and the office if a lesson is to be missed. If a student must cancel a lesson, this must be done more than 24 hours before the lesson time or the lesson will be forfeited. The one exception to this rule is in the case of serious illness. If your student is ill, please do not bring them to lesson. Please call or email the office to let us know and a make up lesson will be scheduled.
If the teacher must cancel a lesson for any reason, a make up lesson time will be scheduled. Outside of illness, only one student-initiated make up lesson will be arranged per session. This will take place during the make up lesson week as needed. There are no make up lessons for group classes.
Withdrawal
Families who decide to withdraw from Selah private lessons mid-session are free to do so with a two-week written notice. Notice must be made in writing to the Selah office. After the two-week notice period passes, Selah will reimburse the family for the remainder of the session tuition on a prorated basis. The registration fee is non-refundable.
Group classes and ensembles are non-refundable after the third class.
Drop-Off
Students under the age of 12 must be accompanied to their lesson room by an adult. Please pick up within five minutes of their lesson ending. Due to the tight schedule of each of our teachers, arriving late will shorten lessons.
