Special Needs Ministries

We believe God has given us a unique task of supporting families by providing a safe, loving Christ-centered program for the special needs child or adult while parent(s) and siblings attend worship, Sunday School, and serve at FBCW.

BRIDGE CLASS - Is for Kindergarten - 2nd grade is for high-functioning children with sensory disorders, Asperger's, autism, and other needs. It meets in A165 at 8am and 9:30am on Sunday Mornings. It is a transitional class for families to have a safe, calm, and loving environment to bring their children to learn about God's love and His Word with people who understand. Having a separate class allows our teachers and volunteers to adapt to the kids and their responses to each activity.

SPECIAL NEEDS - Currently, we offer two Sunday School classes at 8AM and 9:30AM in Rooms A163 and A166. Each class is composed of individuals with a wide range of ability levels and ages. Our Sunday School class includes a time for greeting one another, a Bible verse, a Bible story, music and a time of prayer. Students are encouraged to be active participants during group time through the use of simple assistive technology and visuals. Leisure activities such as arts and crafts, music and stories are included in our morning schedule.
