Custodial & Set-up

Ministry Objective (what):
The objective of the custodial department is to minister through our service, to the people who are using the facilities at First Baptist Church Woodstock, in such a way that each of them would see Jesus in each of us. Through this causing them to be challenged in their personal walk with God, encouraged in their service to the Savior, and more dedicated to the call to the ministry that God has placed on their life. If we are successful in this vision then the custodial department will make an impact on the kingdom of God.

Biblical Support (why):
God called us to serve Him in a way that most people would not understand. However, God’s word says in Numbers 1: 50-54 that certain people will be responsible for the tabernacle. We want to answer Gods call on our lives in this area. God called us to serve Him and others. We are doing exactly that. Understanding that He is using the Custodial department of First Baptist Church Woodstock to make a difference around the world is as mind boggling to me as Him sending His Son to die for me knowing what kind of person I am.

Ministry Action (how):
Ministering in the custodial department is done through open, obedient service to Jesus. We do this through the cleaning of rooms, setting up of chairs, cleaning toilets, maintaining a good event schedule, and simply serving in any way we can. Our team leaders are responsible to teach the importance of how a clean room can minister to others. Our custodians are responsible to make sure on a daily bases their area is prepared for the next event. Our goal is to make sure those events that take place at First Baptist Church Woodstock don’t have to concern themselves with these aspects of ministry.

People Needs (how many):
We have 16 custodians that make First Baptist Church Woodstock a clean, neat, and orderly facility. With the addition of our new facilities our staff will grow up to around 55 full-time personnel.

Effectiveness:
The Custodial department is effective in keeping the rooms set up and clean. We have a good relationship with each of the ministries. We desire to be more effective with in-house carpet cleaning and wood floor care.
