ESL Volunteer Opportunities

During the 2006-2007 school year, the English as a Second Language Ministry had the privilege of serving over 280 internationals from 36 countries speaking 21 different languages.  Each week these precious internationals receive an English lesson along with a Bible Study lesson from our faithful teachers.

How can YOU be involved?

• Invite internationals that you know to join the classes.  Brochures are available in the World Impact Center.
• Teach a class!  Along with a growing international community comes a growing need for ESL teachers.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY...we provide the training!  See details below on the next Teacher Certification Workshop.
• Volunteer in other ways.  Be a greeter, sell books, or administer evaluations for new students. 

Teacher Certification Workshop coming up in August at FBCW

On August 7-9, 2008, FBCW will be hosting the North American Mission Board English as a Second Language teacher certification course Teaching English Language Learners the Good News.  This is an excellent course for training both experienced and inexperienced teachers.  The certification course covers a variety of topics including teaching techniques, curriculum and how to share the Gospel in an ESL classroom.
