Worship Orchestra Attendance and Rehearsals

Attendance Requirements
Commitment to being in our God-called place is the basis on which that calling stands. The overwhelming majority of all instruction given is communicated during bi-weekly rehearsals. Ears not present are not able to hear. In order to develop an ensemble sound, it is only reasonable to expect a high percentage of participation during times designated for accomplishment of these and other goals. We are a worship team and as such the burden of preparedness falls upon each individual by maintaining his/her commitment to Christ and to the other team members. Therefore, we should make every effort to adequately prepare and perform for His glory. This includes being prompt for both rehearsal and service times because the nature of instrumental music requires time for warming-up, tuning, and inspection of equipment. It is always advantageous to arrive early and remain until the task is completed. If you are aware of an upcoming absence or in the event of an emergency, please contact your section leader or the music office. By doing so we will be able to plan rehearsals and services more effectively. Primarily, the greatest reason for communicating this information is that we might minister more effectively one to another as a family.

Rehearsal Etiquette
A major area of challenge during rehearsals is extraneous talking. Which is in part due to the fact that we are a "loving family". As such, we often allow our fellowship time and conversation to "ooze" into rehearsal time. As a rule, when the podium is occupied, conversation should be directed to the podium or to a section member in response to instructions. Following this simple guideline will facilitate more productive rehearsals, reduce potential frustration and will nurture an increased sense of self-discipline. Rehearsal areas have been deadened for instrumental acoustic reasons and are not necessarily conducive for verbal instruction. It is our desire that a spirit of freedom exist during rehearsals and that consideration for those around us be utmost. Please feel free to come early and stay late in order to fellowship.

Childcare is available upon request, however; please contact Nancy Butterworth at 678.494.2689 for reservations.
