Intimacy Issues

Sexual Brokenness Issues

We offer several support groups to help men and women deal with the many changes that come from sexual sins. These programs are offered through our TREK Ministry and Walking Free Ministries.

TREK Ministry

Residential Discipleship & Counseling Program
TREK (Transforming, Restoring, Establishing, Kingdom Life) is an intensive residential discipleship and recovery program for people struggling with life dominating issues.  These issues may include drugs, alcohol and sexual brokenness concerns.  We offer a safe, clean environment to help conquer these issues through Christ centered living.

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2

Walking Free Ministries

Freedom from Sexual Brokenness
When a believer finds himself a slave to sexual sin, the shame he feels is enormous. Though he confesses his sin to the Father and vows to repent, he always seems to slip back into the same sexual sin time and time again. The agony of defeat is overwhelming. The stress in his life caused by his inability to live out what he believes becomes so unbearable that he is driven to seek relief - relief that only sex seems to bring. Thus, the terrible cycle repeats itself.

The good news is that healing and freedom are possible, and for this reason Walking Free Ministries exists...."to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." (Isaiah 61:1)

Support Group for Men
“Walking Free” Sexual Brokenness Support
In a time when the incidence of sexual addiction is increasing at an alarming rate across the nation, Hope Quest is reaching out to those seeking freedom in this area. Like substance abuse, sexual addiction is devastating to families. Men and women disconnect from reality to pursue the illusion of love and acceptance they find through pornography (in all of its forms), anonymous sexual encounters, and multiple affairs. The problem has reached epidemic proportions due to increased access through the internet, a fact evidenced by the growth of the “Walking Free” support group. Since its inception six years ago, the group has more than quadrupled in size, with over 150 men regularly involved. Individuals seeking to join the group are interviewed and evaluated in an initial intake counseling session. The goals of the “Walking Free” support group include eradicating life-dominating sin patterns, establishing guiding foundations of truth, and encouraging life-changing relationships of love and trust in the lives of group members. The group meets once a week and utilizes both large and small group settings for ministry.

Support Group for Spouses
“Journey” Spouses of Sexual Strugglers Support
Women married to men struggling with sexual addiction experience overwhelming pain and loss. As men began finding healing and restoration through our “Walking Free” support group, their wives began to cry out for help as well. “Journey” was born out of the need to bring healing and hope to wives of sex addicts. The group began meeting in January of 2002 and ministers weekly to a growing number of women.

“Journey” exists to provide a safe, caring environment in which women can feel totally free to share their hurts and to grieve. In the large group setting, women discuss the different dynamics associated with addiction—grief, shame, fear, codependence, boundaries. Wives are then given opportunity to share personal hurts and struggles and to receive support from others in the context of a small group. Emphasis is placed on being completely honest with self, God, and others and on developing healthy, interdependent relationships with both spouses and other women.
