Deacons

Dear Brother in Christ,

You have been nominated as a potential deacon to serve this fellowship for the period October 1, 2011 until September 30, 2014.

We know this is an honor that you take very seriously, and you will spend adequate time in prayer to determine if the Lord is leading you to pursue that process that may lead to your serving in this capacity.

If this is something you desire to pursue, please read the mandate in the Scriptures found in I Timothy 3:8-13 and also in Titus 1:5-9, along with the FBCW qualifications below and ask the Lord if you are qualified according to these passages.

  • Man worth of respect
  • Sincere
  • Not indulging in wine
  • Not pursuing dishonest gain
  • Man who keeps hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience
  • Man who is tested (examined by the Deacon Nominating Committee)
  • The husband of one wife
  • Man whose wife has similar qualifications
  • Man whose family is well cared for and family relationships are healthy and growing
  • Faithful Sunday School Member
  • Tither
  • Participates in the services and ministries of the church
  • Will participate in deacons activities and perform the deacon responsibilities

After completing the forms, please email them to Kathie White, Kathie.White@fbcw.net. Or print them and drop them by her office at the church.

The deadline for completion and submission of the questionnaire is August 28th. No applications received after this date will be reviewed.

After a review and approval of your response, you will be scheduled for a potential candidate review that will be held either on Sunday afternoon, September 11th or 18th at the church.
Please make a note of these dates.

If approved as a deacon, your service to this fellowship will be for the time period of October 1, 2011 until September 30, 2014.

We pray God's leadership and direction for you as you make this very important decision in your walk with the Lord.
