Where can I be baptized? At First Baptist Church Woodstock
- Meet at 5:00 pm Sunday afternoon in room W2060 (Altar Counseling Suite) in the Worship Building for the pre-baptism class, to be followed by the baptism service. This class is strongly recommended before baptism. All family members and friends are invited to attend.

- Note: Jeans become too heavy when wet and make it difficult to walk out of the baptismal pool.
- Church provides towels, robes, and hair dryers. Bring change of clothes for the worship service afterward.
Why should you be baptized? Jesus commanded it. Matt 28:19-21 – “Go therefore . . . baptizing . . . .” Shows our obedience. Acts 2:41 – “They who gladly received His word were baptized . . . .” Shows our love for Christ. John 14:21 – “He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me . . . .”
What does baptism mean? The Greek “baptizo” means to immerse, submerge; to make overwhelmed (i.e. fully wet). Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and your public profession of faith in Christ: “… died to my old way of life and am buried with Christ in baptism and raised to walk with Him in newness of life.” Rom 6:4. Confession: Matt 10:32-33 – “Therefore whoever confesses me before men, him will I confess before my Father, which is in Heaven.”
