LADIES SELF DEFENSE SEMINAR

This seminar will include "hands on" training in Self Defense tactics and techniques in a safe environment.  Topics include:

• Scenario Training
• Defensive Tactics
• Specific Power Techniques to end the conlfict
• Improvised and Legal Weapons you carry every day

TAI CHI WELLNESS PROGRAM

The practice of Tai Chi is known to imporve mood, reduce stress, reduce high blood pressure, improve immune function, sharpen mental focus and improve concentration.  People recovering from injury, surgery or chemotheraphy have shown significant benefit from the practice of Tai Chi in recovery.  Besides the benefits of practice, Tai Chi may be the only activity a patient may be able to engage in, preffered over aerobics or yoga.  As weight control, Tai Chi is an effective practice for medically obese patients.  It is not only easy on joints but can improve joint function for seniors and people with arthritis.

What is Kenpo?

Power Under Control
The Kenpo Karate School is based on the American style KENPO. KENPO is a mixture of five cultures: Chinese, Japanese, Okinawan, Hawaiian, and American. Our karate teaches that just as the willow tree bends to a strong wind, so we too, should bend to potential threats. What may seem weak is actually strong. CHRIST taught the meek shall inherit the earth; therefore, Kenpo Karate stresses meekness or gentleness. The goal of Kenpo Karate is for the student to develop confidence not to fight.

Kenpo’s Pledge
I will only use my skills for self-defense.
I will never use more force than is necessary to eliminate the threat.

Kenpo’s Motto
Heaven is a gift from God through Jesus Christ. Our school is not like Heaven, I must earn my way in Kenpo.

All instructors will have background checks completed by the Sheriff’s Dept.
An instructor will never be alone with a student.

Schedule & Location

Kenpo Karate classes are held Thursdays at 7:00 pm January - May and August - November.  Weekly scheduled classes are subject to change due to Special Events.  Classes are held in the Basement of the B Building.

Pricing & Registration

• $10 per month per student
• New Student Registration will be held on August 7th, 2008.
• Classes are for age 10 years old and up or 7 years and up if joining with a parent.
• Cost for the uniform is $35.00 ($30.00 each if ordering two or more)
