Internships

Thank you for your interest in First Baptist Church Woodstock’s Wellness and Recreation Ministry.   If after reviewing the information you would like to apply to be an intern please fill out the application and return to our office. Please include a copy of your resume as well. Our Wellness and Recreation Director will get in touch with you after reviewing your information. While our interns are not a paid position we do provide a lunch coupon to use in the cafe daily. Our office can assist in finding a place for you to stay if needed.

Intern Job Description (Special and long term projects change quarterly)

Daily and Weekly Duties

• Opening and Closing Procedures
• Member Orientations
• Floor Supervision Duty
• Fitness Testing and Personal Training
• Staff Support-Daily Activities Vary
• Attend Meeting with Director of Wellness and Recreation

Special Projects

• These typically take 1-2 days to complete
• You will complete 3-4 of these
  • Assist with walking class and other programs
  • Heath information board maintenance and design
  • One day special events(BP screens, body fat %, action booths, etc)
  • Attend meetings to promote the program to the church staff, membership, and community
  • Design marketing tools for the big screen, first focus, etc

Long Term Projects (These require much planning and preparation. One of these should be approved by your advisor for your project if required.)

  Great American Smoke Out
  Walk/Run
  Heath Fair/ Screenings
  Tennis Tournament
  Golf Tournament
  Blood Drive
  Mobile Mammography Screening

We are open to suggestions for your project, you aren’t limited to these.
